I hear you say "what?" when you read the titel of this blog. Yeah well i've got some stuff to tell. And I couldn't sum it up in any other way haha. Above you see a preview of the new layout that will be used in the wordpress blog. This entry will probably be my last post on cutenews. I do think I will only transfer my tutorials to WP, but I might consider the fashion posts aswell.

I'm currently in the process of building the layout. My parents are away on a holiday, so you would think that I would have plenty of time to work on it. wrong. I have actually got less free time now, then when my parents are at home. Have to water plants, cook every day (yeah right ... ), walk the dog 3 times a day, go to work, shop for food yada yada. Exhausting! Not to forget that today we had some festivity in our village, and I had to make music with the drumband at 8:15 AM ! On a sunday! Bloody hell ..

The advantage of parents not being home is that you can receive packages without getting comments about them. I ordered some shoes (*cough* 6 pair *cough*) and I placed an order @ H&M, but offcourse that takes forever like always.

I got my hands on that jacket above. Oh it's so lovely *drools*. Everything above is from H&M (current collection fall/winter) except the shoes. That's where the "granny" part comes in ! I saw these type of boots everywhere online. Sometimes boots, sometimes more a pump/ankle boot version of it. I was sold, immediately. So before I actually bought some online, I thought of the boots that my grandma ever gave me to sell online. I believe I never sold them, I did had them on MP (dutch ebay-like) but I remember that people didn't bid high enough for them. I'm not 100% sure, but I'm too lazy to check today, so i'm going to check tomorrow.

Anywayz, I ordered the jacket and the hat @ H&M (jacket coming september :( blah), shoes I already have, same goes for the jeans (same kinda style, mine aren't H&M) and I hope to purchaze the bag this friday with my giftcard (wich I can't use online offcourse, grr!). Yay for free shopping !

For a client I had to built a CMS-like site, that had a function for everyone to update, but not to have too much knowledge of HTML for it.

Joomla was way out of their league (still too much work, to build and to update, and possibilites are minimal (for a n00b atleast)) so I ended up choosing for WordPress.

Gosh ! I remember the days I found WordPress, and I personally thought it was a pain in the butt. Too much work, but compared to for example Joomla, it is a piece of cake for every webdesigner out there.

I got the hang of it, and found out posibilities where endless with WordPress. You have loads of options of displaying latest photos from example your Picasa account, show recently posted stuff.

Only downside: it eats up PHP memory. I had 16MB, but I kindly asked my host to move it up .. And I don't even have that much plugin's activated. I did tested allot, so that could be it aswell.

To make a long story short, I'm converting my site to WordPress again. Already made a layout, but i'm thinking of finishing this one (the background bug is still there, haha!) aswell and adding it as an extra theme.

Hope to get some time this week to finish up on most of the things. Gosh time flies ...

Yeah, you got it right. DB.net has been updated. It took me a long time, and mostly because I was so satisfacted with the way the previous layout looked. It didn't screamed "update me" yet, but sometimes website's just need change without reason.

DB.net was exceeding bandwidth. I have no idea what caused it, but an unknown source is giving my website a lot of hits, and I mean a lot. Therefor DB.net was offline for a day or 3 I believe. The last day I got pissed, and sent my host an second emailing asking them to answer my question asap. Because I thought I got flooded with comments on my blog, and that that was causing the bandwidth to exceed. In order to remove those comments, I had to login into cutenews, but I couldn't even visit my website.

They manually turned my website back on, and here I am. I immediately blocked a few robots, and updated a few behind the scene things that will hopefully prevent my website from going down again.

Hope you enjoy the new layout. I'm not sure how it looks on Windows IE, i'm too tired to test it on that. I'm sure there are mistakes in it, as there always are (damn IE), but I can't be bothered right now. I removed most "messing up" things from the layout, the others are for tomorrow, or the day after that. Cheers!

Na een aantal maanden gebruiker te zijn van Joomla! kan ik er inmiddels wel een conclusie uit trekken wat Joomla! inhoudt en of het de tijd, moeite en vooral investering waarmaakt.

Ugh, after I had the chance to celebrate "carnaval" for 4 days, I went from party animal to party pooper. The "season" started with a "visiting day" to look at all the trucks that participated in the parade. It was a fun, but very busy day.

On sunday, there was the parade. Awsome, it wasn't even that cold! We had a small group, but it was a fun group to walk with. Late in the afternoon we got back to our homebase, and prepared for our first night of "carnaval".

Sundaynight, oh what a night. At first everybody was pretty tired, since it was a long day and a long walk. But after 30 minutes or so everybody was awake again haha, and the party began! It was awsome. We didn't visited the prince, he just lives too far away in our opinion.

On monday I had to work on a website, spend 4 hours working on it then prepared for another night of carnaval. This night is the less attractive night of all. Since on this night the prizes will be announced to all the groups. It takes upto 2 hours to finish. Wich is such a shame, it's 2 hours without music. After all, it was a good night after that.

Tuesday I felt horrible. My headache got worse (I had it long before carnaval, so booz isn't the issue here!) .. but still I went to the carnaval, since the days before it helped to calm down my head and to take my mind off things. Unfortunately it didn't, it got worse.

After all, it was a good carnaval, but it could have been allot better if I was in good healthy condition. It sucks. So now i'm sitting here, at my workplace, because I have to work since they have nobody else to fill in for me, with a dripping nose feeling totally screwed up. Ugh!

Zou het niet gewoon handiger zijn dat je alles op één plek zou hebben waar mensen al je profielen zouden kunnen vinden?

For a project i'm working on I needed to have a quick system that makes it possible to post a picture and have comments appear beneath it. I choosed Cutenews, but one problem, Cutenews doesn't make it possible to link to only one post on a page. If you post two items, you will see a "Next .. 1 2" link under the post.

Before you start

I must note, this is only a workaround if ...
- you are willing to make a seperate page for each post
- you don't have 100+ posts to post within a short time
- you just need a quick solution.

This tutorial only explains to you how to make this part work on their own. If you want to implement this into your own layout you simply have to add your layout coding within the documents of "Step 2". This can either be HTML or PHP includes, that doesn't matter.

So you want to make 100 images using a list of clients you have. It would be crazy to generate 100 pictures by hand, that's just nuts! There are actually companies around the world that ask around €400,- for a program that does this. After doing some research I figured out this function was just a built-in menu item in Photoshop.

Before you start
- I'm using Photoshop CS to write this tutorial. Photoshop CS2 and 3 have this function aswell, but it is possible that it is located somewhere else within the menustructure of the program.
- You can only personalise text by list if it's an actual textlayer, not an image layer etc.
- I use a dutch version of Photoshop/ImageReady CS. I try to translate as much as possible within the graphics, but I can sometimes be wrong ofcourse.

The captcha hack for Cutenews is a well-known hack on the internet. Part of it because it works, but mostly because it doesn't. Atleast, that's what people think. I myself found myself struggling with the readme file that was included within the download. It's a very good script, therefor I would like to share my thoughts on this with you so that you can use this script.

What you need:
You need to download the following files:
- Captcha.zip (right click > save as)
- shows.inc.php (it's within you cutenews > inc folder)
- The page where you include the show_news.php on (for example: index.php)

I'm a true fan of H&M. Think that 80% of my wardrobe excists of H&M (either regular label, Divided or LOGG). So when I saw that cute little black dress on H&M online shop I just had to have it! I'm femiliar with the fitting of dresses in general, so I ordered the biggest size there was (44 EU size).

When I got at the checkout, sold out. Damnit! So next morning, at 9 AM (wich is the time they restock mostly everything) I tried again. Yes, got it !

Ever got that feeling you where losing a battle to find the perfect pump? I had that moment, awhile ago, and I was kind of giving up on finding the perfect pair of pumps for my weird pair of feet.

I have a difference of one size inbetween my two feet. Therefor one feet is often stuck in the shoe, while the other has plenty of room for moving back and forth. It's really annoying, especially when you want a pair of pumps to fit with your gorgeous grey denim skinny.

Sale is here, and what a sale it is! I visited the gorgeous shop Invito last thursday and was looking for these gorgeous being green boots that where for sale. Unfortunately this shoe was pretty much sold out and only available in one pair size 37 (EU sizes). Damnit! I wanted this boot so badly, I fell in love with it when it first got into the collection and now it was on sale.

Never again would be the best way to describe this concert. The concert itself was good, her voice wasn't great though, but it was nice to see.

She started at 9 PM with a grand opening of the show. The curtains open and she is sitting on this huge staircase with a gorgeous red dress on her. Then she takes it off and starts off with a few songs like "one minute", "behind these hazel eyes" and "don't waste your time".

After that songs like "never again", "Addicted" and "because of you" followed.

The high notes on "never again" never came, she held back way too much. Just when you thought it would "rock" she went down a few notes and that was that. Boring really, if it happens one time, ok understandable. But with every ...

Spotted at Sacha Shoes NL: an oversized version of the Chloé Bay bag in smokey grey or retro purple. It was love at first sight, I just had to had this bag for myself. I wasn't really looking for this bag, I did however was looking for a grey bag, so this was just meant to be.

It was mine for ´44,95, but it was worth it! It is bigger then I imagined. I love the bay bag, but most inspired versions are more of a handbag then a shopper. This one is for sure a shopper ....

I do watch allot of series, to set my mind back to zero, to completely chill out and find some new inspiration. Afterall, I do work 40 hours fulltime behind a computer day in day out. It's exhausting for sure, so a must-do on my list is: relaxing.

On the 24th of March I went to see Alicia Keys in Ahoy Rotterdam. I was in good hopes, since the first concert i've ever been to was Alicia Keys in the HeinekenMusicHall Amsterdam on the 26th of August 2002. And that was a rockin' good concert.

The show starts with a gospel "movie" showing a gospel choir doing their thing. While the camera zooms in on some of the people in the church you will quick see Alicia Keys in the crowd. The story is that she has to become a star, and she goes through some doors in the church and voila comes on stage in Rotterdam (magic, eh?).

The movies part of the website will treat new movies, outcoming movies, must-see movies, unique movies and much more.

This year Reebok is launching a whole collection dedicated to some of the "greatest" cities in the world. Each city has a celebrity that represents the shoe belonging to that city.

There's a shoe from London, New Delhi, Madrid, Paris, New York and Tokyo. Personally I like the idea, I love the shoes all for it's unique design however I don't think some of them are really wearable. Some are more for the "must have" then "must wear".

Tokyo has been released, and Paris followed after that this March. Both shoes are widely available in many shops, however online is really hard to find. Ebay doesn't have them that much at the moment, because they are too new. Tokyo is available, but Paris isn't.

And site's talk about these shoes all the time, however I haven't found one site that also tells you where to buy these beauties ...
